Frequently Asked Questions

Common Questions We Get about Pest Control

We get a lot of questions here at Master Exterminators. Here are some of the most common questions we receive, along with straightforward answers from our experts.

How do I know if I need pest control services?

If you’re seeing bugs, droppings, hearing scratching, or smelling something off, it’s probably time to call. But even if you’re not sure, we’re happy to take a look.

We offer and highly recommend preventative maintenance termite and pest control services to help reduce the probability of infestations and these type services typically come with warranties.

What type of pests do you manage?

We treat a wide range of common pests here in our region of Southeastern North Carolina including Mosquitos, Ants, Spiders, Roaches, Bed Bugs, Mice, Rats, and more. We also treat homes for Termites, as well as offer solutions for Moisture Control in your homes crawlspace that will help prevent long-term problems before they start.

What should I do before and after a service visit?

Ask when scheduling if there is any prep work you may need to do, we do have prep work information sheets that can be sent to you on some of the treatments we offer. The more thorough your pre work, the more thorough are treatments can be which in turn will deliver better results. If you have seen signs of activity or pests, make a note of what, when, & where. If you can, save a specimen, so we can inspect it when we arrive. After your initial treatment we offer and highly recommend one of our preventative maintenance service plans to help maintain the results and while underneath one of those plans, we do provide a warranty if a follow up treatment is needed. If for some reason the pests stay persistent, we will too because When We Arrive No Pest Survive!

What if I still see bugs after you’ve treated?

Some pests and infestations can be a process to resolve. It’s not uncommon to see some continued activity after a treatment. After an initial treatment is completed, our technician will assess the infestation and make recommendations of what continued service plan will be best for you.

Is it safe for my kids or pets?

Absolutely. We use EPA-registered products and adhere to all applicable safety guidelines. Kids and pets should stay clear of treated areas until they’re dry, but once that’s done, your home is safe to use again.

Do store-bought sprays and traps work?

Some do, but most only address what you can see, not the root cause of the problem. Plus, DIY treatments are often misused or underpowered. If something’s not going away, it’s time to bring in the pros.

Are your technicians experienced?

All of our technicians are registered through the Structural Pest Control Division of our State’s Agricultural Department and are trained to handle pest and moisture problems professionally and safely. We’ve been doing this since the 1950s, and we ensure that every team member arrives prepared, respectful, and ready to resolve the issue the right way.
